The UAE — a closer option
Dubai and Abu Dhabi host branch campuses of universities from the UK, Australia, the USA and India, alongside UAE universities. Most master's programmes run one to two years, many with evening or part-time options, and are taught in English. Students need a student visa sponsored by a recognised institution; tuition varies widely by university and course.
MBBS abroad — checked against NMC rules
A foreign MBBS only helps if India recognises it
To practise in India, a foreign medical degree must meet the National Medical Commission's Foreign Medical Graduate rules — and you must have qualified NEET UG before you go. We check every university against the current NMC regulations before it goes on your list.
Under the NMC's Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations, 2021, the key conditions include:
- A course of at least 54 months, plus an internship of at least 12 months in the same foreign institution
- The whole course taught in English, at one university
- The degree must let you register and practise as a doctor in that country
- After returning, you clear India's licensing exam and complete the required internship before registering
